Smart GPS Tracking

Zag Tag collaborated with Link Labs to develop proprietary Point-to-Point (P2P) technology that facilitates two-way communication between mobile devices and smart tags. The technology works with free wireless spectrum (915MHz), so no cellular coverage or wifi networks are required for communication. Together we developed what we call an interpreter device that converts the 915MHz signal to a Bluetooth signal that a mobile device can “understand”.

The first application for our technology is tracking and locating of valuables with mobile devices and smart GPS tags.

iOS

Our existing draft apps have been developed for iOS operating system and include the following cool features:

  • Set perimeter as virtual fence to alert user when tag crosses perimeter
  • Find valuables indoors by sounding buzzer in the tag
  • Get alert when valuable is moved

Uses 915MHz

Using 915MHz has tremendous advantages over traditional communications media like cellular or wifi:

  • Longer battery life (up to 3 months)
  • Less expensive
  • No monthly contracts
  • No cellular coverage required

Energy Efficient

Being more energy efficient allows the smart GPS tag to transmit location data more frequently (every 30 seconds) than the average 5 minutes for GPS tags using cellular networks.
